Microsoft Teams
How to record Microsoft Teams on your Mac without a bot
Capture Microsoft Teams calls with Replay for Mac. Save video, separate audio tracks and searchable transcripts locally, with no subscription.
A local recorder for the Teams Mac app
Replay captures a call window in the Microsoft Teams desktop app, along with the meeting audio and your microphone. It saves the recording on your Mac and creates a local transcript you can search. No meeting bot joins the call.
Replay requires Apple silicon and macOS 26 or later. Your one-time purchase activates two Macs. Recording and transcription run locally; generated summaries and meeting questions require Apple Intelligence.
Record a Teams call
- Install Replay in Applications and activate the Mac with your purchase email.
- Allow Screen & System Audio Recording and Microphone in macOS settings. Allow Speech Recognition to transcribe calls.
- Join your call in the Microsoft Teams Mac app. Let the participants know you are recording and obtain the consent you need.
- Choose Teams in Replay and select the call window, or use the prompt Replay shows when it detects the meeting.
- Start recording. Stop when you finish, then open the saved call in your Replay library.
Record the call window you select
Replay records the selected Teams window rather than your whole desktop. Check the window before you press Record. Your microphone and the meeting audio are saved separately, making it easier to balance the two voices during playback.
Headphones reduce echoes and duplicate speech in the transcript. If your Bluetooth headset makes meeting sound less clear while recording, choose your Mac’s built-in microphone in Replay.
Use the transcript for follow-up
Read the transcript beside the recording, click a passage to jump to that moment, and rename the Me and Them speaker labels. In a group call, you can assign individual transcript lines to the right person.
With Apple Intelligence, generate a summary, decisions, action items and chapters. Search past calls by words or ask a question about a meeting. Verify names, commitments and dates against the recording before sharing generated notes.
Local files, optional video sharing
Recordings live under ~/Movies/Replay Recordings/ in ordinary folders. Transcripts and notes remain local. If you explicitly create a Share Link, Replay uploads a separate video copy for 1–12 hours, with revocation available in the app and your account.
Replay is independent of Microsoft Teams and does not add an in-call recording announcement. Follow your organization’s recording rules and tell the people in the call before you record.
